Família piemontesa, antiga e nobre, chamada Dellarovere ou Rovere, que se espalhou ao longo dos séculos em várias regiões da Itália. Giovanni Basso (dec. Roma 1483), filho Guglielmo, notário em Albissola, casou-se com Luchesa, irmã do papa Sisto IV. Como conseqüência dessa aliança ilustre, ele abandonou sua família paterna e assumiu que della R.
