Famiglia cagliaritana le cui notizie risalgono al secolo XVII. Apparteneva alla borghesia, alcuni dei suoi membri erano notai. Nel 1679 ottenne il cavalierato ereditario con un Antioco, i cui discendenti furono ammessi allo stamento militare durante il Parlamento Montellano. Il figlio di suo fratello Giuseppe, il dottor Alfonso, nel 1723 acquistò la signoria della scrivania di Parte Ocier Reale. Egli divenne giudice della reale udienza, nel 1700 ottenne il cavalierato e nel 1740, la nobiltà; successivamente le condizioni della famiglia andarono decadendo. Lo stemma della famiglia Delvecchio dalla Sardegna è: Spaccato; nel primo di verde, ad una torre, ed a' piedi di essa a sinistra un vecchio sdrajato, vestito d'azzurro, il tutto al naturale; nel secondo d'azzurro, al volo di rosso, caricato di un sole d'oro. Altro ramo. Antica e nobile famiglia originaria di Lucera. Altra famiglia alzò per arma. Di rosso, ad un fascio di miglio al naturale legato d'oro.
