Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Colin, sergent du chapitre de Nantes en 1455, demeurant paroisse de Sainte-Luce, non contributif à cause de son office; Guillaume, seigneur de Belestre, partage sa succession en 1467; Georges son fils, épouse Marguerite le Gentil. Les seigneurs de la Morandais, paroisse de Tinténiac, de même nom et armes, alliés aux Lamour, Fabrony, le Chauff et Charette, ont produit un sous-lieutenant de vaisseau en 1786; Autre branche: Etienne, auditeur des comptes en 1573; Charles, échevin de Nantes en 1614; Charles, seigneur de la Souchais, et Jacques-Antoine, seigneur de la Gournerie, maîtres des comptes en 1718 et 1761; un inspecteur général des ponts et chaussées, mort en 1883.
