Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Guillaume, témoin au traité de mariage de Catherine de Bretagne et d'André de Vitré en 1212. La branche aînée tombée en quenouille a porté en 1275, par mariage, aux Rougé, la seigneurie de Derval, successivament possédée depuis par le Châteaugiron, Malestroit, Raguenel, Rieux, Laval, Montmorency et Bourbon-Condé. Georges, fils naturel de Jean de Châteaugiron, dit de Derval, fut capitaine des châteaux de Fourgeray et de Derval en 1476, et épousa Marie Bonenfant; René, seigneur de la Lanceulle, fils des précédents, épousa Charlotte de la Vallée; René, marié en 1565 à Perronnelle de Carméné, dame de Brondineuf, arrière-petite-fille de Françoise de Broons. Leurs descendants qui ont produit deux conseillers au parlement depuis 1694 se sont fondus de nos jours, dans Michel de Monthuchon et Huchet de Cintré.
