Antica famiglia, detta Biasi o De Biasi, la quale trasse il proprio nome da un omonimo castello, presso La Spezia, sito tra Marinasco e Pogazzano. Molti membri illustri hanno illustrato tal casato, tra i quali rifulsero in maggioranza: Paganino, anziano in Genova nel 1405 e Antonio, commissario di Spezia nel 1447, riformò gli statuti di questo comune, poscia andò commissario a Sarzana nel 1445. Vari furono capitani di galce al servizio della repubblica e dei Papi: famoso su tutti quel Baldassarre, alle cui imprese, anno 1503-13, il Guglielmotti ha consacrato un intero libro della Guerra dei Pirati. Ascritti nei Gentile nel 1528. La presenza del motto, inoltro, nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia ci conferma l'avita nobiltà, raggiunta dalla stessa. Motto della famiglia: Bene docet. La famiglia levò per arme. D'azzurro alla tigre al naturale passante. Altro ramo. Nobile famiglia, detta De Blasio, De Biasio o De Biasi, originaria di Reggio
