Família antiga e muito nobre do Reino das Duas Sicílias, de virtude clara e ancestral, que gozou de nobreza em Cápua, Sessa, Palermo e Messina, que se espalhou ao longo dos séculos em diferentes regiões da Itália. Possuiu a terra de Fiumara di Muro e a fazenda de Calanna, o escritório da rantaria de Palermo, a propriedade ou propriedade de terras denominadas Lo Fegotto e passou para a ordem de Malta nas pessoas de Giovan Filippo Di Francesco-Saccano. Spadafora-Saccano, em 1553, e Ottavio Di Francesco-Lombardo-Saccano-Arena, em 1573. A tradição heráldica diz que o fundador dessa família foi um cavalheiro capuano chamado Francesco, secretário do rei Carlos, o coxo, que se tornou depois, governador da cidade de Sessa, na época do rei Roberto. Transplantada para a Sicília, sob Alfonso de Castiglia, a família se dividiu em dois ramos: um se estabeleceu em Palermo e outro em Messina. Francesco foi um juiz
