Antica e nobile casata italiana, originaria di Sezze, che vuolsi della medesima agnazione dei nobilissimi Tuccimei poiché entrambe discendenti da quel Federico Tuccio di Meo che, al seguito del Barbarossa, era venuto in Italia, ponendo dimora nel velletrano. In ogni modo, la chiara nobiltà della famiglia Di Meo è confermata dalla sua presenza nella pregevole e fondamentale opera araldica "La storia delle famiglie romane" dello storico Teodoro Amayden (1586-1656) che come primo personaggio di tal schiatta nomina un Gaspare di Meo, fiorito anteriormente al XV secolo. Sempre i Di Meo si distinsero per non chiudersi nel privilegio ed anzi molti di loro furono chiari per pietas e amore verso il prossimo. Un Amico Di Meo eresse un ospedale per i poveri in Mongiovino nel 1490 e nello stesso anno un Don Salvatore fu canonico in Città della Pieve. I Di Meo ebbero dunque ampi possedimenti feudali in tutto lo Stato
