Antigua y noble familia italiana, originaria de Sezze, que quería la misma agnación del muy noble Tuccimei como ambos descendientes de aquel Federico Tuccio di Meo que, siguiendo a Barbarroja, había llegado a Italia, instalándose en Velletrano. En cualquier caso, la clara nobleza de la familia Di Meo se ve confirmada por su presencia en la valiosa y fundamental obra heráldica "La historia de las familias romanas" del historiador Theodore Amayden (1586-1656) que nombró a Gaspare di Meo como el primero carácter de este linaje., que floreció antes del siglo XV. Los Di Meo siempre se distinguieron por no encerrarse en privilegios y de hecho muchos de ellos tenían clara la pietas y el amor al prójimo.
