Ancienne et illustre famille véronaise, appelée Prato ou Di Prato, plus anciennement appelée "Cassini", à laquelle appartenait Iohannes Di Prato, qui fait partie des nobles conseillers depuis 1406 ; cependant la famille n'est pas inscrite régulièrement et sans interruption au Conseil Majeur de la Ville depuis 1529. Quelques membres de cette famille se sont distingués dans les armes. Elle portait également l'habit de Malte et fut décorée, en 1670, du titre de comte, par le duc de Mantoue Ferdinando I.
