Ancienne famille originaire de Carpi, connue sous le nom de Santi, Santo ou Di Santo, est arrivée à Sienne au XVIe siècle, où elle a été attribuée à l'Ordre des Réformateurs, et le premier résident était le Dr. Niccolò, par Giovan Francesco, en 1547. Après lui, Gismondo, sous le capitaine Leone, participa au gouvernement de Sienne en 1597. Giovan Battista, de Gismondo, était un bon mathématicien, chevalier de S. Stefano ; Ferdinando I nommé superviseur de l'arsenal de Pise et il a conçu le plan du quartier de Venise à Livourne. Il mourut en 1625. Niccolò, de Gismondo, servit en Allemagne sous le maréchal Piccolomini. Cirino, di Gismondo, était abbé de Cassino et lecteur des écritures sacrées à l'Université de Pise. Leo, son frère, un jésuite, était professeur de philosophie et de théologie à Pise, professeur du duc de Parme et auteur de poèmes latins et d'ouvrages de théologie. Devise
