Antica ed assai nobile famiglia da Genova e Pavia passata nel Regno di Sicilia detta Fazio, Facio o di Fazio propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Le più antiche memorie sono di un giudice Fazio di Fazio avvocato fiscale della Gran Corte nel 1377. Un Muzio, nel nome maritale di Isabella Chilona, ottenne da re Martino, con privilegio del 31 marzo 1408, la conferma del feudo di Boscaglia; un Matteo fu vice secreto del contado di Agosta 1409; un Giovanni fu viceportulano della Bruca e di Lentini 1410; un Giovan Vincenzo fu capitano di Caltagirone nel 1533-34; un dottor Francesco fu segretario referendario del regno di Sicilia 1721; un dottor Mario Giuseppe fu barone di Nasari per investitura del 27 aprile 1812 e fu ascritto alla mastra nobile di Messina del 1798-1807.
