Nota in Corleone e in Marsala sin dal secolo XVII. Un Gaspare, con privilegio 24 luglio 29 ottobre 1627, ottenne per sé e suoi la concessione del titolo di Don; un Carlo tenne la carica di proconservatore in Corleone nel 1702; un Bernardo nel 1759 faceva parte della nobiltà di Marsala; un Rosario fu capitano di giustizia di Corleone nel 1797-98; un Giuseppe il 10 dicembre 1812 ottenne concessione del titolo di marchese, che, il 23 gennaio 1813, ottenne di poter intestare sul feudo di Cannetto. Altro ramo. Famiglia originaria napoletana; si diramò in diverse città dell'antico reame, possedendo importanti feudi ed occupando alte cariche specialmente ecclesiastiche. Ebbe il titolo di duca di Laviano a 13 marzo 1716, quello di Castelgrandine a 21 luglio 1701, e quello di marchese di Rapone a 30 settembre 1724.
