Alte und sehr edle piemontesische Familie, genannt Chiera, Dichiera oder Di Chiera, mit erstem Wohnsitz in Mondovì, die zuerst nach Cuneo und im Laufe der Jahrhunderte in verschiedene Regionen Italiens verpflanzt wurde. Der Ursprung dieser Erkenntnis, gelinde gesagt der maßgeblichen Ahnenforscher, sollte in einem Toponym wie Chieri (TO) oder Monchiero (CN) gesucht werden, wahrscheinlich dem Ursprungsort eines heute unbekannten Vorfahren. Die Familie, die in der Entfaltung ihres Glanzes den Titel eines Grafen von Vasco trägt, hat es immer geschafft, eine Reihe von Männern hervorzubringen, die seinen Namen berühmt gemacht haben, im öffentlichen Dienst, in liberalen und kirchlichen Berufen und im Militärdienst. Unter diesen befinden sich: Camillo, Stadtrat in Mondovì, der 1496 florierte, ohne etwas für den Wert des Ausgelassenen zu riskieren; Alessandro Maria, Jurist, blühte 1504 in Mondovì; Luigi, Arzt in "utroque jure", lebte 1564 in Cuneo; Giacomo, Jurist, lebte 1579 in Cuneo; Alessandro, königlicher Notar, lebte 1637 in Turin;
