Ebbe questa famiglia dieci volte il priorato dal 1468 al 1525. Battista di altro Battista era priore nel 1515 quando Leone X entrò solennemente in Firenze, e fu al pari di tutti i suoi colleghi creato conte palatino. Della famiglia non si hanno più notizie dal 1668. A questa famiglia ha appartenuto il titolo di Conte, titolo che solevasi dagli imperatori a coloro che erano al loro fianco. Da questi Conti si sceglieva coloro che venivano destinati a soprintendere agli uffizi del regio palazzo, ed altri erano mandati al governo delle provincie dell'impero ed a gurdare i confini. Erano poi altri conti, estranei ai cennati uffizi, come quelli addetti all'annona, al commercio; ed anche i provveditori dell'esercito si ebbero quel titolo. Ai tempi dei Goti la dignità di Conte fu pur mantenuta a parecchi pubblici funzionari; ed i Longobardi ancora dissero i loro governatori conti o castaldi.

Note: Il capo fu concesso dal papa Leone X a Battista Dini, priore nel 1515, quando il papa entrò solennemente a Firenze. Si trova anche lo stemma di un'altra famiglia, detta Dini di Nutino, del gonfalone Nicchio, stemma consistente in un partito di rosso e di nero, al cervo saliente attraversante al naturale.
