Tra il 1343 ed il 1469 i Niccoli ottennero per cinque volte il priorato, e furono illustrati da Niccolò, uno dei più distinti letterati dei suoi tempi, il quale morì nel 1436. Dal XV secolo non si hanno più notizie di questa famiglia. Altro ramo. Famiglia che nulla à di comune con la omonima sempre della Toscana, ascritta all'arte dei beccai, ebbe quattro priori tra il 1349 ed il 1395. Altra famiglia alzò per arma. Di rosso, alla fascia d'argento, accompagnata da tre stelle d'oro, due in capo, ed una nella punta. Tali sono i principii, che da sopracitati Autori si diedero a questa famiglia, ma per esser questo fatto assai remoto, e d'historia molto lontana, lasciamo perciò a più eruditi delle sacre antichità, e dell'historie l'investigarne il suo certo principio.
