Da Sassoferrato Pasquale, figlio di Martino e fratello di Diotallevo celebre dottore di legge, portò durante il sec. XIV la famiglia a Rimini, ove essa si stabilì e conquistò presto un'elevata posizione sociale, poichè vediamo che Francesco nel 1398 era uno dei Consiglieri di Carlo Malatesta, signore della città. Giacomo di Giorgio prese parte all congiura ordita il 20 gennaio 1498 contro i Pandolfo Malatesa, e poscia, esule dalla patria, militò sotto l'imperatore Carlo V. Girolamo nel 1572 introdusse in Rimini l'arte della fabbricazione della carta; Pietro, commendatore di Malta, fu colaterale delle armate pontificie al tempo di papa Urbano VIII; Alessandro di Gio. Battista e Domenica Melzi, gesuita, (1648-172) pubblicò varie opere ascetiche di molto valore; Alda di Antonio (1651-1723) si rese illustre peeer virtù e santità di vita; Diotallevo di Gio. Battista e Teresa Ippoliti (1690-1739), e il di lui figlio Carlo coltivarono con successo la poesia;
