Antica ed illustre famiglia di Bussero, in quel di Parma, di chiara ed avita nobiltà, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. I fratelli Nicolò, Marco e Girolamo Docelli, in data 10 luglio 1699, avevano ottenuto la cittadinanza parmense; in data 21 febbraio e 13 marzo 1725 un Giovanni fu pure ascritto a detta cittadinanza. Un ramo della famiglia, inoltre, passò a risiedere in Polesine di Parma. Un dottor Francesco fu podestà di Borgo S. Donnino (Fidenza) eletto il 10 settembre 1650; un Giovanni Battista era tenente colonnello dei Carabinieri, nel 1751; un Giovanni Paolo, il 10 aprile 1749, ottenne patente di colonnello del Terzo di Busseto e capitano della prima compagnia. Un Lorenzo fu nominato procuratore il 15 marzo 1746; un Vito fu podestà di Polesine il 24 dicembre 1764. Carlo con Privilegio di Filippo Borbone, Duca di Parma, ottenne patenti di nobiltà e fu creato
