L'origine que certaines chroniques pointent vers cette lignée n'est rien d'autre qu'une légende. Ce qui est historiquement prouvé, c'est qu'il y avait un manoir de ce nom dans la vallée d'Orozco, Encartaciones de Vizcaya, et que deux frères, originaires de la maison susmentionnée, ont accompagné le roi Fernando III el Santo lors du siège de Jaén et de la prise de Séville.
