La casa de S., de la cual procedió Don Miguel de S. Fornier, aparece solariega y muy antigua en Santillana, Santander; algunos de sus hijos pasaron a la villa de Espinosa y al lugar de la Revilla. De ella fué el Illmo. Don Bartolomé de Santos, de Risoba, que fué obispo de Almería, de León y Sigüenza. La rama que nos ocupa, que se fijó en Andalucía, se halla empadronada como perteneciente a la clase de caballeros nobilísimos, hijos-dalgo notorios en los libros del Excmo. ayuntamiento de Antequera, años de 1640, 1648, 1706 y 1774. donde se enumeran los servicios de algunos de esta casa que obtuvieron la regiduría perpétua de la misma municipalidad. Parece tuvo orígen de dos caballeros godos que acompañaron al infante Don Fernando a la conquista de Antequera, reconquistada de los moros en 16 de setiembre de 1410. Consta que los esforzados Sancho y Gonzalo S.
