Antica ed illustre famiglia beneventana, detta Blasi o di Blasi, di chiara ed avita nobiltà, passata a risiedere in Sicilia, al tempo di re Carlo d'Angiò, e diramatasi in Trapani, Salemi, Castelvetrano, Palermo e Messina. Tal casato, il quale risulta fregiato dei titoli di marchese di Camporeale e di barone di Salina, come rilevasi da documenti ed atti notarili, nel corso dei secoli, sempre riuscì a distinguersi, grazie agli elevati personaggi, a cui diede i natali. Tra questi, senza nulla levar al valore degli omessi, ricordiamo: un Pietro, dottore in leggi, giudice della corte pretoriana di Palermo nel 1608, avvocato e consultore del tribunale della SS. Inquisizione, giudice dei tribunali del Concistoro e della Gran corte Civile e Criminale, barone dei feudi di Diesi e Sparacia 1634; un Giuseppe, che acquistò, nel 1687, la salina detta di Perollo, con il titolo di barone e con il mero e misto impero;
