Sono oriundi dalla Toscana e si trasferirono in Forlì nella seconda metà del secolo XIV, ove ottennero seggio in Consiglio fra i Patrizi. Illustri personaggi ebbe questa famiglia, fra i quali meritano maggior menzione Taddeo figlioccio prediletto ed allievo di Giotto. Nicolò Vescovo di Fermo e Taddeo Vescovo di Cosenza, ambedue ebbero la porpora cardinalizia da Clemente VII, il primo nel 1530 e da Paolo II il secondo nel 1550. Giuseppe Generale dell'Ordine dei Domenicani. Pietro Vescovo di Spoleto poi assistente al Soglio Pontificio presso Innocenzo XII. Guglielmo fu segretario di S.Carlo Borromeo ed altro Guglielmo nel 1649 fu creato Vescovo di Parma. Pietro (1597), Bartolomeo (1600), Giovanni (1608) e Baldassarre (1740) si segnalarono quali invitti Capitani. Guglielmo fu Governatore di Todi, Terni, Larni, Rieti e Rimini. Pietro Paolo, Cavaliere di Malta, ebbe il comando delle Milizie Pontificie sotto Pio VII. Pietro nel 1600 fu Vice Principe di Meldola per
