Ancient and noble German family, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. The vastness of this family is also testified by the presence of its many branches is some of the most important heraldry books, such as the "Armorial général" by JB Rietstap, a monumental work that contains the blazons of the coats of arms of more than 130,000 European families, and "Johann Siebmachers allgemeines großes und vollständiges Wappenbuch", a heraldic multi-volume book series of coats of arms of the nobility of the Holy Roman Empire. Tradition has it, it is one of the oldest families of Zinnwald. The first family member we know of is a Christoph Ehrhardt, flourishing in 1657. Subsequently the predicate von Zinnwalde was added to the surname; thus a Friedrich Heinrich Ehrhardt signed himself, in 1784. In the noble books there are also: Carl Heinrich, born on July 16, 1824
