Questa nobile famiglia, trovandosi qualche volta memoria col cognome dal Bue per equivoco dei Scrittori , sembra che sia tutt'una con quella di modo, che alcuni hanno confusi i soggetti insieme tanto dell'una quanto dell'altra; eppure si conosce esser differenti, dalla diversità delle loro Insigne, e ancor più chiaramente dall'annotazione del libro Fantaccino nell'Archivio fol 63. Questa casa ha, dunque, per arme un "chevron con dentro tre gigli d'oro in campo azzurro, con sopra altri tre gigli d'oro" a cui e stata aggiunta l'Aquila Imperiale, oggidì e senatoria. Il Gherardazzi vi pone nel 1387, un Francesco fu membro del Consiglio dei 400, e nel 1431, Gonfaloniere di Giustizia. Giacomo, di Guglielmo, fu marito di Catarina di Stefano Battagliani.
