De Guipúzcoa, con dos casas en la villa de Gainza, del partido judicial de Tolosa. Iñigo y Martín de E., hermanos, eran vecinos de la mencionada villa en 1399; Antonio de E., probó su hidalguía ante la Justicia ordinaria de San Sebastián, en 1759. En esta ciudad reside desde muy antiguo distinguida rama, cuyos caballeros han sido Alcaldes modernamente y han desempeñado otros altos cargados. Juan Bautista, Juan Esteban y José Manuel de E., hermanos, probaron igualmente su hidalguía ante la Justicia ordinaria de Lazcano, en 1773. Una de las citadas casas de la villa de Gainza, ostentó las siguientes armas: De oro, con una encina de sinople, y dos lobos de sable, lampasados y membrados de gules, al pie del tronco. Bordura de gules con ocho sotueres de oro. La otra casa, tenía: De azur, con un lobo andante de sable, y bordura dentellada de oro.
