De Guipúzcoa, con casas en las villas de Elgóibar y de Motrico (Valle de Mendaro), ambas del partido judicial de Vergara. Una línea moró en la villa de Deva, del partido judicial de Azpéitia, que procedía del Valle de Mendaro. De ella fué Martín López de E. esposo de doña Catalina Ermúa, y ambos padres de Esteban López de E. y Ermúa, que casó con doña Nicolasa de Sarasúa, a la que hizo madre de Domingo de E. y Sarasúa, que contrajo matrimonio con doña María de Eguía, naciendo de esta unión Pedro de E. Eguía, que celebró su enlace con doña María Magdalena de Arrue, y procrearon a Juan José de E. y Arrue, bautizado en Deva el 22 de Julio de 1739, y Joaquín de Emasabel y Arrue, bautizado en la misma villa el 16 de Abril de 1740. Estos dos hermanos obtuvieron Real provisión de hidalguía en la Chancillería de Valladolid, el 1 de Agosto de 1787.
