Fiorirono fino dal tempo della repubblica di Chieri, ed ebbero investitura di Cellarengo, Santena e Cavour. Primo marchese di Cavour, fu Michelantonio. Un Giuseppe governatore di Chieri: un altro Michele Antonio ottenne il Collare della SS. Annunziata. Camillo celebre ministro di Stato di Vittorio Emanuele II e Cavaliere della SS. Annunziata. Motto della famiglia: Gott will recht. Peregrinatio et militia. Pax. Altro ramo. Originata dai Visconti di Baldissero, prese il cognome da una donna Benzia che viveva nel 1150. Dai castelli di Ponticello e di Santena di loro proprietà si denominarono i due rami di questa famiglia. Da quello di Santena uscì un Cesare vescovo d'Asti, e un Goffredo cavaliere dell'Ordine supremo della SS. Annunziata. Altro ramo. Antica e nobile famiglia. Chiamati anche Bensio, Bencio, Bentio, e finalmente B., furono approvati cittadini fin dal 1663.
