C'est ainsi que ces armes se voient, et sur une lettre, signée d'Escudier, écrite de Trigonant, le 23 juillet 1789, à l'effet de donner de nouveaux pouvoirs aux députés de la noblesse, et sur des couverts d'argent provenant de cette famille, avec cette seule différence que l'annelet du 2e parti est ici remplacé par une rose de gueules sur fond d'argent – erreur peut-être du graveur. Cette famille a été anoblie par le capitoulat en 1596; un titre sur parchemin, du 10 décembre 1780, en fait foi, de même qu'il constate que, par arrête de 25 mars 1727 et 18 juin 1778, les Escudier ont été maintenus dans leur noblesse.
