Questa famiglia è antica in Nettuno, ove di lei si veggono antichissime memorie, sempre in istasto di nobiltà sopra gli altri della terra, onde a poco a poco si fece Romana paerntando nobilmente. Sono alcuni che vogliono congiungere questa famiglia colli Berardi de Vangelisti Corsi, già signori di Lugo, ma non avendone io autentici documenti, ancorchè siano parenti mie, non devo asserirlo, avendo eglino nobiltà abbastanza chiara, senza mendicare l'oscura. Luca Evangelisti fu capitano di uomini d'arme sotto il marchese de Bagni al servizio dell'Imperatore Carlo V dell'anno 1524, come da Patente originale presso di me. Il Capitano Cola Evangelisti, figlio di Luca, ebbe per moglie .... Romauli, da quali nacque Ottavio, ch'ebbe per moglie Martia Muti de Papazzurri. Da questi nacque Girolamo, oggi vivo, ed ha per moglie Cleria Macchiavelli figli di Pirro Macchiavelli e di Lucrezia Arrigoni, da quali nacque Bernardo e Carlo compiti cavalieri. Hanno da 150
