Le nom de cette maison est diversement écrit Eyma et Ayma. Les armes de la famille sont inscrit dans le Grand Armorial de France (registre de Bergerac), sous le nom de Pierre Ayma, avocat au parlement. Mais sous celui de Anna Eyma, - ainsi ortographié - fille de Jean Eyma et d'Isabeau de Baysselance, assistée de messires Daniel et David d'Alba et de Pierre de Lentilhac, ses cousins, mariée le 11 janvier 1701, à Claude de Gastebois, écuyer, seigneur de Bardonly, elles sont décrites: d'or à cinq aiglettes d'azur mises en sautoir. Pierre-André Eyma, écuyer, conseiller du roi, vivait en 1739; il avait épousé Mlle Jeanne de Sorbier, fille de Zacharie de Sorbier, écuyer, lieutenant général d'épée à la sénéchaussée de Bergerac. En 1740 vivait Eyma de Fregiguel, conseiller-secrétaire du roi, maison et couronne de France, demeurant à Ferrier, paroisse de Maurens (Archives de la Dordogne, insinuations de Bergerac). Armes de la famille: De gueules à trois besants d'argent.
