Antica e nobile famiglia originaria di Brescia, si stabilì nel XVII secolo in Cesena, alla cui nobiltà venne aggregata dopochè Antonio Faccini si unì in matrimonio ad una nobile forlivese della famiglia Prati. Un Francesco fece acquisto di alcuni possessi di proprietà del Vescovo di Sarsina, e qunidi fu creato cavaliere dei SS. Maurizio e Lazzaro, del qual Ordine fondò poi una commenda sopra due possessioni nella villa di S. Giorgio in piano. Con lui, morto improle, si spense la famiglia nel 1811. Tali sono i principii, che da sopracitati Autori si diedero a questa famiglia, ma per esser questo fatto assai remoto, e d'historia molto lontana, lasciamo perciò a più eruditi delle sacre antichità, e dell'historie l'investigarne il suo certo principio.
