Sin embargo, la antigua y muy noble familia perusa de San Venanzo, en la de Terni, cuyos primeros recuerdos se remontan a mediados del siglo XIV, cuando un Antonio, un comerciante de Perugia, se mudó a Montegabbione, donde compró casas y tierras. Con el tiempo, la familia aumentó su peso político, a menudo ocupando los cargos de prior y concejal de la Municipalidad de Montegabbione. Gracias a las buenas uniones matrimoniales, la familia Faina aumentó su riqueza al comprar muchas tierras. En 1752, por ejemplo, Giandomenico compró la finca Spante, que consta de la villa y 353 hectáreas de tierra.
