Antica ed illustre famiglia, originaria di Siracusa. Nel 1447 fiorì in Siracusa con carico di Giurato nobile Everardo Faldo, del fu Giovanne, il quale fu anche Giurato di Siracusa. Sotto re Martino incontriamo, tra i feudatari, un Balduccio ed un Guido, il primo possessore del feudo di Belludia, il secondo di Maegi. Ricordiamo, inoltre, un Giovanni ed un Ferdinando, tutti e due giurati, il primo negli anni 1463-64, 1468-69 ed il secondo nel 1479-80. Nella città di Sciacca un Gualterio Faldo occupò la carica di acatapano, nel 1400. Un Francesco ebbe in dono, da Ercole Branciforte principe di Leonforte, il titolo di barone di S. Giovanni, del quale venne investito il 14 febbraio 1739. Un barone Antonino, dottore in leggi, ebbe concesso ad enfiteusi alcune terre di pertinenza del feudo dello Scavo, delle quali, il 17 settembre 1779, ottenne investitura e che donò alla figlia Marianna.
