Ancient and very noble Sardinian family, with residence in Sassari, which spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy. The first information on the family dates back to the thirteenth century and, moreover, its blazon is found in the valuable work, by JB Rietstap, "L'Armorial General". Its members, in the last period of the Giudicato of Torres and of the free municipality, repeatedly held offices of some importance and, in 1440, obtained the recognition of generosity, with a Stefano who, in 1444, was consul of the Genoese in Sassari. In 1528, during the invasion attempt, they sided with the French. In 1567 another Stefano obtained the hereditary knighthood. His sons were admitted to the military station in 1583, during the Moncada Parliament. Among them we must remember Giovanni Francesco, archpriest turritano appointed bishop of Bosa in 1590, considered as the first and most illustrious Sardinian historian, for his work
