Famiglia piacentina, il cui stemma è conservato nella "Descrizione delle feste celebrate in Parma nel 1769 per le nozze di D. Ferdinando di Borbone con M. Amalia". Barnaba, n. in Piacenza nel 1485, dec. nel 1552, dottore collegiato, iscritto nell'albo piacentino nel 1511, fu priore del Comune nel 1545, nel settembre di quell'anno fu il primo a giurare fedeltà al duca Pier Luigi Farnese ed ebbe il coraggio di far levare dalla fossa della cittadella il cadavere del medesimo duca sotto gli occhi dei congiurati assassini e di dargli onorevole sepoltura in chiesa. In onore dell'illustre giureconsulto esiste un grandioso sarcofago nella chiesa di S. Francesco in Piacenza.
