Há lembranças dessa família antiga e nobre, desde 990 dC, ano em que o cardeal Fasano viveu, que mais tarde foi papa com o nome de João XVIII. A casa foi atribuída à sede de Porto e S. Stefano, e tinha nobreza em Roma, Nápoles, Sicília, Solofra, Somma, e foi decorada com o título do comital. Esta família possui figuras altamente louváveis, dentre as quais nos lembramos: um Oliviero ZZZ, corajoso e famoso em armas e um Riccardo Fasano, conselheiro e membro da família do rei Carlos de Anjou. A família participou da história de Nápoles e de seus eventos no passado, contribuindo um pouco para os nobres e escritórios institucionais da mesma cidade, feitos pelos reis que reinaram no Ducado de Nápoles. Muitos reinos passaram por essa província bizantina, governada por um dux. Em 638, Nápoles era dependente do governador da Sicília e mais tarde governada diretamente pelo imperador.
