Família antiga e nobre originária do Monte Fascia, acima de Sturla. Bartolomeo foi atribuído à família imperial em 1528. Os filhos dele, Paolo e Giambattista, também foram atribuídos, na qual a nobreza permaneceu extinta. Na pesquisa bibliográfica dessa família, vários autores fizeram menção a ela. GA Ascheri, no trabalho que realizou e apresentou "Notícias históricas sobre famílias em hotéis em Gênova, impressas em Gênova por Faziola em 1846", é de origem italiana, passada a Gênova, entre os séculos XV e XVII. Poucas são as cidades, que possuem famílias nobres que são tão antigas quanto as da Ligúria, pois, apesar dos eventos da época, ainda há muitas famílias, que provam sua genealogia de pai para filho através de atos notórios de meados do século XII até atualmente, ou seja, de uma época que serve como uma barreira para quase todas as famílias na Europa.
