Famiglia nobile ed illustre delle città di Milano e Pavia, nelle quali occupò onorevolissimi carichi politici e militari, come da una cedola del 20 luglio 1460 e da una fede dell'archivio di Milano, redatta in Palermo presso notar Daratta 1663. Un Giannantonio del Faso fu castellano dell'Ambrosiana Fortezza di Milano, sotto Enrico III imperatore. Fiorirono in oltre: Alberico capo della fazione ghibellina nel quartiere di san Sisto 1220; Corradino potestà di Pavia sotto il duca Filippo Visconti; Francesco Antonio cameriere della duchessa Bianca e di lei segretario, ed un Pier Luigi senatore 1484. Venne portata in Sicilia da un Antonio del Faso, nobile milanese, governatore della città di Caltanissetta sotto l'imperatore Federico II, come da un privilegio imperiale del 10 sett. 1243, presso il grande archivio della Zecca di Napoli, e messo agli atti di Notar Daratta di Palermo, 7 maggio 1663. Un Ludovico figlio del precedente fu castellano
