Famiglia molto antica, con memorie mondovite ed astigiane risalenti al secolo XII, ma con le solite incertezze nelle generazioni remote. Nel secolo XVI ha tre cavalieri gerosolimitani: fr. Francesco (10 ott. 1565), fr. Paolo (23 maggio 1570) e fr. David (22 agosto 1592); nel secolo XVIII, fr. Gaspero Enrico (n. 2 marzo 1763). Il primo personaggio, di cui si abbia notizia sicura, è Percivalle, consigliere di Mondovì nel 1292. La sua discendenza è investita di Ruberent e Montalto nel sec. XV, epoca in cui si dà luogo a numerose linee minori, smembrate dal gran ceppo. Più tardi si formarono le linee di Clavesana, di Montmayeur di Montaldo, di Germagnano, la linea di F. Scaravelli, le altre di Noceto, e di Montelupo; estinte per la massima parte, tranne quelle di Clavesana estinta nei maschi, e di Germagnano. La linea di Clavesana si inizia con Giorgio Michele (n.
