Alte Amalfi-Familie, genannt Felice oder Felice, deren Patriziat es zugeschrieben wurde, die Dame vieler Länder war, mit den Titeln Baron, Graf, Marquis und Herzog. Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte wurde diese berühmte Familie in viele Zweige aufgeteilt, von denen einer nach Piemont, einer nach Abruzzen, ein dritter nach Neapel, ein vierter nach Apulien und ein fünfter nach Frankreich ging, wo er sich in Annonay niederließ. Der Zweig von Neapel floh nach der berühmten Pest von 1600 in die Landschaft der Somma Vesuviana, wo er riesige Ländereien und den Palast des Herzogs von Capracotta kaufte. Es wurde auch in vier Zweige unterteilt, von denen zwei in der Stadt Somma verblieben und zwei nach Neapel zurückkehrten, wo sie den Titel Marquis auf dem Nachnamen erhielten. Die Linie des Felice von Neapel wurde außerhalb des Platzes für edel erklärt und als solche 1743 von der Stadtverwaltung anerkannt. Ein weiterer Zweig der Familie zweigte nach
