Sehr alte Familie, die vor dem 13. Jahrhundert ihr Wappen angenommen hat. Veränderungen im 13. und 14. Jahrhundert waren häufig. Die Ältesten dieses Hauses zwangen ihre jüngeren Geschwister, die Pause (dh ein Möbelstück) in die vollen Arme des gemeinsamen Autors zu legen, um die verschiedenen Zweige zu unterscheiden, die aus demselben Baumstumpf stammen. Als sich das Wappen entwickelte, wurde der Name dieses Hauses von seinen Nachkommen übernommen, aber die Vererbung in diesem Namen war erst Ende des 13. Jahrhunderts absolut. Unter den berühmtesten Persönlichkeiten ist François zu sehen, der mit Claude Glé, dem Leutnant des Herzogs von Mercœur, verheiratet war, ihn 1589 zu den Belagerungen von Rennes, Vitré und Blain begleitete und 1591 vom Prinzen von Dombes gefangen genommen wurde. La Die Lordschaft von Guébriant gehörte damals den Familien Budes, Rosmadec und Lay. Am 9. Januar 1674 veredelt.
