Família Lombard antiga e muito nobre, de virtude clara e ancestral, que se espalhou ao longo dos séculos em várias regiões da Itália e do mundo, com assentamentos mais notáveis nas Américas do Sul. Em Brescia, a família é atestada desde o décimo terceiro século . Após a guerra entre Veneza e os Visconti e, especialmente, quando o duro cerco de Nicolo Piccinino foi vencido, graças ao valor dos cidadãos, os dois irmãos Giorgio e Nicolino Feroldi estavam entre os primeiros. Essa família foi então atribuída ao Conselho Geral da cidade quando o bloqueio foi aprovado, em 1488. No início do décimo sexto século, o patriarca bresciano estava dividido entre aqueles que apoiavam Veneza e os franceses: para os últimos, era o partido liderado de Avogadro e Gambara e com eles estava Giacomo Feroldi, que estava então em 1509 encarregado de levar a rendição de Brescia ao rei Luís XII.
