Antigua familia balear. Radicó en la villa de Esporlas, del partido judicial de Palma de Mallorca, donde poseyeron una hacienda llamada "La Mola", por lo que los individuos de este linaje se apellidaron F. de la Mola. Dícese que descienden de Juan Ferrán (en cuyo caso resultarían originarios del linaje Ferrán), que pasó a la conquista de Mallorca y quedó heredado con la alquería "Culultel", de dos yugadas, en el término de Montueri. Antonio F. de la Mola fue capitán de milicias provinciales y regidor perpetuo de Palma, por la clase de ciudadanos militares. Murió en 1825. Otra casa muy antigua. Privativas dl linaje de F., originario de Esporlas (Mallorca), y una de cuyas líneas descendientes contemporáneas está representada por don Jaime F. y Gisbert, vecino de El Arenal Mallorca (Baleares).
