Famiglia di Bosa le cui notizie risalgono al secolo XV. Nel 1444 ottenne il riconoscimento della generosità con un Giovanni che si era segnalato all'assedio del castello di Monteleone. Successivamente si trasferirono a Sassari dove ricoprirono importanti uffici pubblici e si imparentarono con le famiglie di quella aristocrazia. Nel 1643 la famiglia fu ammessa allo stamento militare durante il Parlamento Avellano. Nel secolo XVIII le condizioni economiche della famiglia ebbero un progressivo tracollo. Nel 1842 uno Stefano, viceparroco della cattedrale di Cagliari, chiese ed ottenne il riconoscimento della nobiltà. Fu costume delle più antiche famiglie, le quali dopo la caduta del Romano Imperio, in quella inondatione de' Barbari, havendo i loro cognomi, sicome gli studi, e altre cose belle smarrito e restati solo con semplici nomi, trarre di nuovo i loro cognomi, e il loro casato da' nomi proprii paterni, e de' maggiori.
