Antica famiglia ferrarese, che si trova ascritta alla cittadinanza Modenese, e che nel 1279 si stabilì in S. Felice sul Panaro, e fino dai tempi del Duca Borso occupò cariche onorevoli; in quell'epoca Alderisio era Masaro in S. Felice. Il di lui ramo, oggi fiorente, nel 1550 si stabilì in Bindemo, e diede a questa terra Gonfalonieri e giudici. In vari documenti fra il 1600 ed il 1700 questa famiglia fu detta anche De Boscatis. Possedeva beni enfiteutici sulla Abbazia di Nonantola. Nel 1700 un Antonio fu nominato Commissario dei beni allodiali della Casa Estense e si trasferì a Ferrara; suo figlio Orazio gli succedette nella carica. Il dott. Antonio di Orazio fu ascritto fra i Nobili Consiglieri di secondo ordine nel 1787. La famiglia fu composta dal dottor Mario e dalle sorelle Maria, in Grillenzoni e Francesca, in Possenti, e dagli zii Tullo ed Elda, in Tumiati. La presenza

Inquartato d'argento e di nero, all'aquila spiegata coronata dall'uno all'altro, sul tutto una divisa in fascia d'oro attraversante, col capo d'Angiò.

Blasone (alias) della famiglia Ferraresi. ricostruito da un disegno conservato presso la Biblioteca Comunale dell'Archiginnasio di Bologna nell'opera "Il Blasone bolognese, cioè Arme gentilizie di famiglie bolognesi, nobili, cittadinesche e aggregate" di Floriano Canetoli realizzata tra il 1791 e il 1795. Note: un ramo propagato in Brasile risulta scritto Ferrarezi.
