Família muito antiga, da qual se desconhede a origem certa. Fernão Gonçalves, da Terra de Sousa, casado com D. Exâmea Dias de Urró, filha de Diogo Gonçalves de Urró, teve de sua mulher, ao que parece, dois filhos, que foram Martim F. e talvez Bento F.. Martim F. foi senhor da Quinta do Poço Covo, na freguesia da Reguenga, concelho de Refóios, a qual ficou honrada na terceira inquirição de D. Dinis. Viveu nos reinados de D. Sancho II e D. Afonso III e supõe-se que tenha casado com uma filha de N. Lobato de Lustosa, filho de D. Gustavo Dias de Lustosa, por onde lhe proviria o padroado da igreja de Santiago de Lustosa, que possuiu, assim como os de S. Jorge de Cela, Santa Maria de Estromil e S. Cristóvão de Refóios. Isto dizem uns, mas outros autores afirmam que Fernão Gonçalves e sua mulher D. Examea Dias
