Cominciò questa famiglia in Spagna dopo la presa del Regno di Valentia soggetta a' Mori dal Rè don Giaime, circa gl'anni del Signore 1117, da un certo Cavaliero, chiamato Ramondo, F. maggiore del medesmo Rè, il cui carico i posteri poscia lo seguirono per cognome; il primo dunque ritrovato di lei è Giaime F. Governador di Valentia Signor de' luoghi di Soto, e de' luoghi di Torcas. Arnaldo F. fiorì con splendore nel 1240. Bernardo F. comprò dal Rè Pietro IV la Villa di Guadacequis nel 1343; però questo famiglia fù oltre modo ingrandita dal Rè Alfonso il quinto, non solo in Spagna, mà anche in Italia nell'acquisto del Regno di Napoli: e nel soccorso, che mandò egli al Papa, Capitani furono, Bartolomeo, e Francesco F., in rimembranza del valore de' quali il Pontefice piantò una Tabella in un muro della Chiesa di S.
