Alte und edle piemontesische Familie namens Ferreta oder Ferreto, die in verschiedenen Regionen des Nordens vermehrt wurde und dem Adel in Ovada zugeschrieben wird, der zur Waffe erhoben wurde: Von Rot zu dem mit Gold gekrönten Löwen, mit einem silbernen Band, beladen mit fünf Sternen aus sechs Strahlen aus Gold, über das Ganze kreuzen. Andere Familie: sehr alt und edel, ursprünglich aus Brescia, genannt Ferreto oder Ferretto. Der Ferreto aus Brescia war 1262 kaiserlicher Notar in Vicenza. Der 1337 verstorbene Ferreto di Giacomo war Redner, Dichter und ausgezeichneter Historiker. Diese Familie hatte ihre Gräber in den Kirchen von Santa Corona und San Lorenzo, auf denen ihre Waffe, die ein Halbgrab darstellt, geschnitzt war.
