Antigua y noble familia piamontesa llamada Ferreta o Ferreto, propagada en diferentes regiones del norte, adscrita a la nobleza en Ovada criada por arma: De rojo, al león coronado de oro, con una banda plateada, cargada con cinco estrellas de seis rayos. de oro, cruzando el conjunto. Otra familia: muy antigua y noble, originaria de Brescia llamada Ferreto o Ferretto. Ferreto de Brescia, fue notario imperial en Vicenza en 1262. Ferreto di Giacomo, quien murió en 1337, fue un orador, poeta e excelente historiador. Esta familia tuvo sus sepulcros en las iglesias de Santa Corona y San Lorenzo, en las que se talló su arma que representa una semi-tumba.
