Con una fiesta del 14 de diciembre de 1792, la Comunidad de Cortona, en recompensa por el interés dado a los asuntos públicos por el abogado Piero Gregorio di Giovanni Battista, propuso la admisión a esa noble clase de él, su hermano Vincenzo y su primo Lorenzo di Giovanni Tommaso. Esta propuesta fue aceptada con diploma el 22 de mayo de 1793. La familia está registrada en la Lista Oficial de Nobles Italianos en la persona de: a) Descendientes de Piero Gregorio y Vincenzo, de Giovanni Battista di Amelio. b) Descendientes de Giovanni Battista, de Lorenzo, de Giovan Tommaso, de Amelio. Era la costumbre de las familias más antiguas, que después de la caída del Imperio Romano, en esa inundación de bárbaros, perdieron y dejaron sus apellidos, así como sus estudios y otras cosas hermosas solo con nombres simples, volvieron a dibujar sus apellidos , y su familia por nombres

Note: In un esemplare dello stemma presente nelle Filze di giustificazioni, l'elefante è rappresentato piuttosto come un cammello, con la torre sullo sfondo e un giglio d'oro in punta.
