The first document in which the Court of Turicchi is mentioned, granted to the Fiesolan Bishops by the Kings of Italy, is a confirmation bullet directed by Paquale II in 1103 to John bishop of Fiesole. The Municipality of Florence did not leave out an opportunity to try to exercise acts of jurisdiction over the Turicchi fief, especially after that village, with a public deed of 25 June 398, gave itself up to the Republic; but these attempts were always stubbornly opposed by the Fiesole Bishops, who gave up their rights only after the suppression of the fiefdoms. The Bishops of Fiesole bear the title of Counts of Turicchi from time immemorial.
